PASTORAL COUNSELLING
Personal Support (One to one)
Rev. Lorraine (Lori) Diaz' extensive experience in congregational ministry enables her to provide prayerful, caring support to members and those close to them who are experiencing the familiar trials and changing circumstances of life such as illness, incapacitation, unemployment, parenting concerns, retirement, aging, divorce and bereavement. He listens with understanding and not evaluation or judgment. Lori can be contacted at 416-925-8494 ext. 222 and lorrainediaz@temc.ca
Grief Group Support (Companions Together)
When we suffer deep emotional loss, we experience an often exhausting inner pain we call grief. It's difficult (perhaps almost impossible) to find the healing we need from emotional wounds while grieving alone, especially over the loss of a loved one. But we do not have to go through the grieving process by ourselves. We can reach out to God, who compassionately understands our human pain and suffering because of Jesus Christ and seek God’s healing for us.
We can also find comfort and strength by connecting with others in similar circumstances. Therefore, we are looking to establish small (6-8), caring and confidential groups of people who will support one another through this difficult time in their lives. No one can remove another’s pain, but we can walk beside and support one another in our sorrow. If being in such a group interests you, please contact Rev. Chris Miller.
CONGREGATIONAL VISITATION BY ELDERS
Elders have had an honoured and essential role in the Church since Biblical times. At Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, the first responsibility of elders is to reflect God's love as pastoral care-givers. The elders contact our members during the Fall and Spring Visitations. The purpose of these visits, whether in homes, at the church, or by telephone, is fourfold. An elder's call is primarily an expression of the church's care and concern for the individuals and families in our congregation.
STEPHEN MINISTERS
There are times when each of us needs care of another person. TEMC is enrolled in the Stephen Ministry, a complete and continuing system of training to equip and empower lay caregivers - called Stephen Ministers - to provide high quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
